Ingredients 4 servings:
2 medium onions
3 large stalks celery
4 cloves garlic
1 tsp dried thyme
400g minced turkey
200g red lentils
400 g tomatoes in their own juice
1 liter of water or chicken broth
salt to taste
Finely chop the onion, garlic and celery.
In a saucepan over medium heat 2 tablespoons warm up vegetable oil. Put the onion and celery, fry, stirring for 4-5 minutes. Add the garlic and thyme, fry for 1 minute.
Add the mince and fry, breaking up lumps spatula, until the meat is completely opaque.
Put the lentils.
Add the mashed tomatoes with juice, pour broth or water, mix, salt to taste.
Cook over moderate heat, covered until tender lentils, about 20 minutes.
