Recipe "Onion Dip":
Not long ago, I discovered a new categorysnacks - makatelnye sauces (or dips) from the dried slices of baguette or pita. This is a great option for a light snack or beer get-togethers with friends.
Dip recipe that I propose to you today has a wonderful dense texture and a spicy rich taste of caramelized onions with balsamic vinegar.
2 medium onions
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tsp dried thyme
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons Worchester sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
250 g of cream cheese
130 g sour cream (fat content of 20-30%)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
dried in the oven baguette slices and / or chopped fresh vegetables for dipping (carrots, cucumber, stem celery, sweet peppers, etc.)
Onions finely chop.
In a frying pan over moderate heat warm up the olive oil. Put the onion and thyme, fry, stirring occasionally, until caramel color, about 30-40 minutes.
Add the Worcestershire sauce and vinegar balzimichesky, hold on the fire, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is almost completely evaporates, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the onions from the heat and give cool.
While cooling down onion, mix in a blender sour cream, cream cheese, mayonnaise, salt and pepper until smooth.
Add the onions and stir.
P.S. This sauce can be refrigerated in a covered container up to 1 week.
